Additional Bodum 5410-03USA Mini Ibis Electric Water Kettle, White Information
|
Looking for the perfect electric hot water and tea kettle? Bodum Mini Ibis Electric Water Kettle in white is a convenient tea kettle or water kettle for any time you need boiling water fast and easy. Perfect for making hot water for your tea pot or French Press Coffee Maker. Why should you use an electric water kettle when you can use your beautiful old-fashioned stow top teakettle or just a plain pan for that matter? Because you want to save energy of course. The Ibis heating element is in direct contact with the water so no energy gets lost in metal bodies as with traditional pans and kettles. With its oval shape, this handy one-piece kettle is designed to have a permanent place at the kitchen counter using a minimum of space. Made of a heat-reinforced polypropylene plastic and a stainless steel heating element, it is an indispensable and practical everyday tool for cooking - and certainly when a fast boil is needed. Whether it is 10 oz or 27 oz the Bodum kettle will automatically cut off power after the water boils for a short while. Color - white. Also avaialble in black.

What Customers Say About Bodum 5410-03USA Mini Ibis Electric Water Kettle, White:

I love my mini kettle but sadly it got knocked off the counter and the handle broke. I've had it for 2+ years and it still boils water great, but now I have to use two hands and a towel (it gets hot) to pick it up. (Boiling water for one cup of tea takes much too long on the stove top).I wanted to purchase a new one, but wow - not at this price. I got mine from Target on sale for $19.99.I will probably have to break down and get one eventually though - when mine completely gives out on me.
I purchased this product to use in conjunction with my Bodum 8 cup french press and it heats exactly the right amount of water to fill that up. Overall it is very useful, boils water in just a couple of minutes and I have no doubts that it will last a long time. It has a permanently attached cord, meaning that unlike the full sized ibis you have to unplug the kettle to move it more than a few feet from the outlet. But in my case it is close enough to the sink to leave it plugged in and still fill it up. It also automatically shuts off when the water is boiling. I would reccomend this product.
This is the perfect size for travel and heats up very quickly. I highly reccomend it.
I got this exactly 2 years ago and used it 4-5x a day with no problems. Nice compact size, heats water in a flash (no plastic taste), and fairly attractive on counter top. It stopped working this morning & after looking over all the options on amazon, I decided to get another. Performance is great & 2 years heavy use seems like a reasonable lifespan considering the price & the fact that the heating element is unprotected.
BUT after 6 months the 'on' switch started flicking back up whenever we tried to switch it on, and now it doesn't work at all. Great during the 6 months it worked. Boiled about 3-4 cups of water pretty fast (about 1 cup per min). Very frustrating. And now I'm shopping for a replacement.
